Please help with my hard disk recovery.?

Question by marco: Please help with my hard disk recovery.?
I installed ubuntu in an external usb drive after creating a new partition on it.I had a lot of stuff on it before creating the partition. Now i am dual booting this with XP which was already on hard drive. The trouble is the usb doesnt get recognised when i switch into XP.And i can’t find any of my previous data when i get in through ubuntu.I can only see the linux OS files.Sorry if it sounds a bit confusing but any help will be appreciated.

good luck. It will be really tough. You’ll have to run a program called ‘foremost’ in ubuntu and I highly recommend reading into it on the ubuntu forums(google that and first to pop up) if you really want to do this yourself.
