You need a windows cd, unless you want into format it without re-installing an os. If this is the case you can get free utilities off of the internet. I recommend UBCD

See if there is a recovery partition on your computer. If not you cant reformat without a windows disk

Wow. I’m having the same exact problem. Borrow the disk from someone who has the same OS as you. If not you can buy the disk back from the OS, but it’s like 125$ .

Either get a disk, or (if you have a seperate flash drive or online storage) back your set-up and then reformat.

to do a true format you must have a “a” startup disk, plus a operating system such as Windows, or Red hat, linix, you can find a free operateing system if you look for the Red Hat, or Linix. burn a cd with a operating system on it, I recommend that you use a Windows Cd, if you dont know how to format from “A” disk
